Marywell Gallery May 2011
Delivered six works to this charming gallery just south of Aberdeen. I hope they have a good turn out at the opening in May and look forward to seeing the works hanging when I get back from Greece.
Off To Greece - Painting Hoiliday 2011
Final details being tweeked, accommodation paid for, and things to take being gathered together near my bags.
The seemingly endless sunshine broke yesterday with a much needed dousing of rain. Zakynthos here we come.

Alex Kay and Susie Hunt. Exhibition at Woodend Barn
I am just completing the works and will get them to the framers next week.
The Exhibition is titled 'Outside Overview' To encompass completely different interpretations of Landscape. The close up and detailed and the more panoramic - and a mixture of the two. I think it is going to work well and will at least be a stimulating show to see..
I will be including a picture for sale in aid of GAGAH which stands for Give a Greyhound a Home. I have used images of greyhounds, whippets and ubiquitous hunting dogs in so many of my works, that when I found out about this amazing group of people, I wanted to be involved with them in some way. Paul has stated that if I bring a Greyhound home it will be the end so I am not intending to rescue one...just yet.

Shades Of France - Painting Holiday August 2011
Mike and Sara Peel are hosting painting holidays in a delightful part of France and have invited me to join them as one of their tutors. The planning is so neat and efficient, the food sounds great, and the house and swimming pool - simply lovely. It is going to be a very successful venture for them I am sure and I look forward to being there for a week next year.
My booking is 27th August - 3rd September 2011
www.shades-of-france.com will give you all the details that you need if interested in joining us.

Royal Scottish Acadamy
Generally I keep quiet about open shows that I submit work to.. Unless of course I get something in. The R.S.A Small Works Show is opening in Edinburgh tomorrow evening and I am very pleased to be attending as an exhibiting artist. Going to drive down with George Collier and Lyndsay Gibb, as George also has work accepted.
Its a long way to go for a glass of red, but it might not happen again!

Zakynthos 2011
We are still eight months from the Painting holiday in Greece, but each new person signing up makes it seem a bit closer. The days are shortening rappidly in Aberdeenhshire, but I have sunshine and lots of new people to look forward to.
The first week from 19th - 26th of May is nearly full with eight painters signed up and two non painting partners. The second week might be a cosy foursome with Maureen and Graham Fison. What ever will be, we are looking forward to it.
On that note I think I should book our flights.

North East Open Studios....
The Barn is full of boxes.
Twelve stacks on pallets, five layers on each pallet,
- with nine boxes on each layer.... 45 catalogues for NEOS in each box.
The good news is that already six full stacks have been distributed by a number of participants. I am really happy about the greater awareness and willingness to help.
23,000 catalogues so if you want one or some to distribute, you are welcome to come and get them from me or any of the other distribution points.
Go to www.northeastopenstudios.co.uk for more details or call me..
